December 1st is World AIDS Day
Even to this day, there is a lot of misinformation regarding HIV/AIDS. 1 in 5 people still think you can acquire HIV through kissing. Also, only 16% of people knew that if someone is on effective treatment, they can't pass on HIV.

November is Epilepsy Awareness Month
Epilepsy Awareness Month - People with developmental disabilities are at a significantly higher risk of seizures – the likelihood of seizures increases with the severity of the disabilities. However, having a seizure does not mean that someone has epilepsy. One out of 10 people will have just one seizure in their lifetime. At least two unprovoked seizures are usually required to be diagnosed with epilepsy.
