June is PTSD Awareness Month

PTSD can be caused by any number of events throughout a person’s life, whether it be serving in any branch of the military, an event that caused or threatened serious harm (or death), being the victim of bullying, and more. For some, PTSD may also begin long after the events occur. The good news is that PTSD can be treated.

June is Migraine and Headache Awareness Month

People living with migraines can withdraw from their daily lives due to the symptoms. People also hesitate identifying themselves as having migraines, as there is still stigma and lack of compassion regarding the symptoms.

June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month (ABAM)

With advances in healthcare, people living with intellectual/developmental disabilities are living longer than they ever have before. People in this demographic are living into their 60s and beyond for the first time in history. Due to this, new research is being done to help with the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's/Dementia in adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities. It can be more difficult to assess, and there are different signs at different points in their lives.
