Mattel "Barbie Fashionistas" Line to Include People With Disabilities

Communitas is a nonprofit that provides Direct Support Professional assistance in Poulsbo, Silverdale, Bremerton, and Port Orchard for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Mattel has announced that their "Barbie Fashionistas" line is going to be their most diverse lineup yet.

There will be 176 dolls, both male and female, with nine different body types, 35 skin tones, and 94 hairstyles.

The important part of this news is that the line will also feature dolls designed to represent people living with physical disabilities.

There will be wheelchairs, prosthetic legs, people with vitiligo, and behind-the-ear hearing aids.

The entire 2022 Barbie Fashionista line will be available on shelves at Amazon, Target and Walmart for $9.99 in June 2022.
