Communitas is a nonprofit that provides Direct Support Professional assistance in Poulsbo, Silverdale, Bremerton, and Port Orchard for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Sarcoma is considered by many to be the “forgotten cancer”.  It is rare in adults (1% of all adult cancers) but prevalent in children (20% of all childhood cancers).  Sarcoma types of cancers arise from the cells that hold the body together.  They could be related to muscles, nerves, bones, cartilage, and other forms of “connective tissues”.  In the United States, more than 16,000 new cases are diagnosed each year and roughly 7,000 people die each year from sarcoma cancers.
