Communitas is a nonprofit that provides Direct Support Professional assistance in Poulsbo, Silverdale, Bremerton, and Port Orchard for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

National Win with Civility Month is a month to reflect on ways for everybody to be more civil with others throughout their lives.  Something that must be explored by almost everybody is civility in the online sphere.  Here are some pointers on how to be more civil when interacting with others online:

1)      Remember there is a person on the other side of the monitor.

2)      Be empathetic when listening to others, even if you don’t agree.

3)      Stay positive.

4)      If doubting how to respond, wait 24 hours, or don’t respond at all.

5)      Don’t say anything you wouldn’t say to that person’s face.

6)      Do not share information/opinions you do not want made public.
